Pakistan Shaheens defeated Bangladesh A by 79 runs.Half-centuries by Khawaja Nafees, Yasir Khan, and Abdu Samad. Three wickets each by Saad Masood and Faisal Akram.

 

Darwin (Australia), 14 August – Pakistan Shaheens won the first match of the Top-End T20 series by defeating Bangladesh A by 79 runs.

In the match played on Thursday, Pakistan Shaheens won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 227 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Bangladesh A was all out for 148 runs in 16.5 overs.

 

In the Pakistan Shaheens innings, the openers Khawaja Nafees and Yasir Khan added 118 runs for the first wicket. Khawaja Nafees scored 61 runs with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes. Yasir Khan played an innings of 62 runs that included 7 fours and 2 sixes.

Abdu Samad, playing aggressively, scored 56 runs off just 27 balls with 1 four and 5 sixes and remained not out. Captain Muhammad Irfan Khan contributed 25 runs including one four and three sixes.Muhammad Faeeq scored 18 runs with the aid of one four and one six.

After Bangladesh A lost their first wicket at 6 runs, Jishan Alam and Saif Hasan added 86 runs for the second wicket. Jishan Alam was dismissed after scoring 33 runs. Saif Hasan played an aggressive innings of 57 runs with 5 fours and 3 sixes. However, after that Pakistan Shaheens took control of the match.

Bangladesh A added only 56 runs for their last 9 wickets.

 

From Pakistan Shaheens, Faisal Akram and Saad Masood took three wickets each, conceding 19 and 30 runs respectively. Muhammad Wasim Jr. took 2 wickets for 24 runs. Pakistan Shaheens will play their second match against Perth Scorchers on 16 August.
