Rana Naved "Appeal Papers will be submitted in a couple of days"

32 year old Pakistan pace bowler Rana Naved ul Hasan today confirmed to PakPassion.net that he will submit his appeal to the Pakistan Cricket Board in a couple of days time.

"I have been preparing the response papers with my representatives and they will be ready in a couple of days time".

Rana who was one of seven cricketers punished by the Board following a disastrous tour of Australia, has represented Pakistan on 87 occasions and has best bowling figures in one day cricket of 6 for 27.

Banned for a 12 month period by the Board along with Shoaib Malik, the former Yorkshire and Sussex paceman stated that he was in possession of the report prepared by the Inquiry Committee.

"Yes I have the report and have had a read of it. The only reason why they have banned me is due to underperformance. They felt that my performance on the tour of Australia was below par. I always give 100% effort every time I take the field, it doesn't matter who I am playing for, I always give my all".

Rana's figures in the 5 one day internationals in Australia were as follows :-

10 overs 1 for 61 and 8 not out from 11 deliveries, at the Gabba

7 overs 0 for 47 and 27 of 22 deliveries, at Sydney

10 overs 2 for 57 and 33 off 28 deliveries, at Adelaide

10 overs 1 for 70 and 0 off 1 delivery, at Perth

10 overs 2 for 55 and 8 off 6 deliveries, at Perth

In the only Twenty/20 in Australia, Rana took 1 for 27 from 4 overs and scored 1 run off 9 deliveries.

Rana continued "if necessary I will take my appeal papers by hand and meet whoever I need to from the Board to discuss these matters. I hope the situation is resolved soon and I can recommence my career for Pakistan".
